Timble Family Mystery Series

By Jim Rathbone Illustrations by Takashi Ito

This series of books will take you on a great adventure with Pirates, Smugglers, Spy's and Traitors and even outlaws. These stories spans 300 years and multiple generations of the Timble Family and all of their great adventures. These books are A FUN Tale for kids and adults. The book was written by retired Kenpo instructor Jim Rathbone. The present day parts of the book take place in Florida and all the illustrations were done by a great artist Takashi Ito of Japan.

Review of the book

"Pirate in the Family" was one of those books destined to sequels. The simplicity of the wording and the fast paced action makes it a great book for teens,  but the story and details make it interesting to adults also.  Hidden treasure is a common dream for all ages. The puzzle aspect adds even more intrigue to the story. I hope to see more of this authors books in the near future.

Anita Evers

There’s a Pirate in the Family is written to include a younger audience of eight to fifteen years of age and those to whom English is the second language, yet this captivating story woven with simplicity still manages to weave an intricate plot that holds the interest of a seasoned adult reader as well. It is unique, charming, and well worth the exciting and fun read.

There's a Pirate in the Family

There’s a Pirate in the Family is a fun and exciting tale about the Timble family, the first half of the book (book one) takes place in the early 1700’s when Pirates still sailed the waters of the Caribbean. The Timble Family starts a new life when William Timble gains a mentor by saving Lord Braithe-Waite’s daughter from a watery death. William & Jessica have a new son who grows up with the help of a Chinese slave to become the Pirate in the Family. The second half of the book (book two) takes place in modern Florida. J.W. Timble and his little sister Katie are sent by their mom to spend the summer with Grandpa Jim Timble, a retired Kenpo Karate Instructor who they barely know. Someone breaks into Grandpa’s house and the mystery begins. Grandpa can’t understand why anyone would break into his old house until they find that they have inherited a real treasure from the Pirate in the Family. A FUN Tale for kids and kids at heart of all ages….
